Introduction:
Post motor vehicle accident significant injury of the left lower extremity open wound with extensive necrotic tissue including Subcutaneous tissue muscle and bone fragments
Methods: Using multidisciplinary step-by-step approach of removing devitalized necrotic tissue including orthopedic intervention of removing loose bone fragments from the wound, aggressive anti-microbial treatment managed by infection disease physician, serial surgical and clinical debridements in outpatient setting followed by application of negative pressure wound therapy device combined with skin substitute applications.
Results: Complete wound healing with 100 % strong epidermis tissues was achieved in 12 weeks of treatment
Discussion: Combination of using multidisciplinary progressive approach with application of advanced technologies helps in achieving successful outcome in healing post acute soft tissue injuries
